Welch’s to Host “The Ultimate PB&J Challenge”
Contest on FoodNetwork.com seeks unique family fun moments in the making of America’s favorite sandwich
Concord, MA, January 5, 2009
Welch’s, the world’s leading marketer of Concord and Niagara grape-based products, today announced it will host “The Ultimate PB&J Challenge” on FoodNetwork.com, the number one food site on the web. The Ultimate PB&J Challenge seeks family’s most unique and creative means of making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich together.
“Welch’s is excited to make the art of making PB&J sandwiches come to life on FoodNetwork.com. We can’t wait to see what families will do once their creative juices get flowing,” explained Lisa Geronimo, Marketing Manager at Welch’s. “Welch’s creates products for the whole family so we felt it made sense that we launch a contest to get families together and show us how they interpret making the real PB&J sandwich using of course, Welch’s Grape Jelly!”
Whether you grill your PB&J panini-style; prepare it in an assembly fashion with each family member manning a post; or simply make it while sharing the details of your day with those that matter most – Welch’s wants to know. Beginning December 30, 2008, consumers can visit www.FoodNetwork.com/welchs and upload a video or photo, accompanied by a description of a family-fun moment. Entries will be posted on FoodNetwork.com and America will then vote on their favorites. The contest will run through February 22, 2009.
Grand prize for The Ultimate PB&J Challenge is a 3-day, 2-night family trip to New York City for four. Trip includes a tour of the Food Network Kitchen, tickets to a broadway show, dinner at a Food Network chef’s Restaurant, and $5,000 in spending money.
