Scope
This buyer role will report to the Purchasing agent, and be responsible for capital equipment, energy and MRO purchases. Primary role is supporting the corporate engineers, plants engineers, and plant MRO purchasing activities.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the purchase of capital equipment, construction services, MRO, natural gas, and electricity.
- Works with Engineering to execute the purchases that support the capital budget.
- Works with the plants to execute MRO purchases, negotiates broad based MRO supply agreements.
- Works with plants to purchase Natural Gas and electricity. Monthly publication of natural Gas Energy report.
Job Requirements/Skills
- Buyer must have strong analytical skills
- Work with minimal supervision
- BS or Engineering degree in a related discipline.
- 5+ years experience in Purchasing.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently.
- Strong negotiation skills and Demonstrated technical competence and initiative.
