Job Responsibilities
- The support, facilitation and coordination of all process improvement activities (e.g. 5S, Quick Changeover, Best Practices, etc.) in the plant, including scheduling, organizing, and attending meetings; launching 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, CI, etc.
- Driving understanding and appropriate use of CI tools.
- Identifying improvement opportunities in areas to include cost, quality, cycle time and capacity.
- Meeting with department managers to share best practices and to ensure that efforts align with corporate wide model and standards.
- Working with plant leadership team and sister plants to establish standardized manufacturing operating practices based on evaluation of different existing practices, industry best practices and unique situational requirements.
- Coach, mentor and train employees at all levels of the organization in OE/CI methodologies and the appropriate role they will play in the process.
Job Requirements/Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering or related field.
- A minimum of three to five years of experience leading lean improvement processes cross functionally in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong (and demonstrated) project planning, training, selection of appropriate OE/CI tools, statistical tools and team facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, team building, and people skills.
- Lean master or equivalent certification. (Six Sigma Black Belt a plus)
- The ability and willingness to work off shifts as required.
