Welch's Donates $100,000 to Westfield Memorial Hospital Welchs Makes Donation on Behalf of its Employees and Growers in the Southern Tier WESTFIELD, NY (November 1998) Daniel P. Dillon, Welchs president and CEO, today announced the companys $100,000 contribution to Westfield Memorial Hospital for the hospitals "Renovation Program" at a presentation ceremony with Barbara Malinowski, CEO, Westfield Memorial Hospital and Alan Holbrook, president of the Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation. "Welchs, on behalf of its employees and growers, is proud to make this donation to Westfield Memorial Hospital," Dillon said. "Westfield Memorial Hospital is an important caregiver and employer in the Chautauqua County region. It is a facility that provides quality care not only to our neighbors but also to our workforce and their families, along with the growers who belong to the National Grape Co-operative. Welchs donation to Westfield Memorial Hospital is representative of our commitment to the Westfield community." The $100,000 will be donated over a three-year period and will be used to help the hospital renovate its radiology, physical therapy, laboratory, cardiac rehabilitation department, and front lobby. The project is estimated to cost $4.5 million with $3 million financed through Westfield Memorial Hospital. The Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation is raising the remaining $1.5 million. "Community hospitals such as Westfield Memorial Hospital need to be competitive in the ever-changing health care industry," Malinowski said. "We are extremely fortunate to have received such a generous donation from our friends at Welchs." "We are very excited to be the recipient of such a generous donation," Alan Holbrook, president, Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation, said. "This donation will help us to secure much needed resources that will in-turn allow us to better serve the community and its health care needs." Welchs is a grower-owned cooperative and the worlds leading marketer of Concord and Niagara grape-based products, including bottled and frozen grape juice. The company also produces a variety of other juice beverages, jams and jellies and frozen and shelf-stable concentrates. Welchs employs approximately 150 people in the Southern Tier and works with nearly 500 local family growers in the region as well. Welchs also has operating facilities in, North East, Pennsylvania.
