Welch's Recognized As "Vendor Of The Year" By Wal-Mart
CONCORD, Mass. (May 1997) - Welch's has been named "Grocery Vendor of the Year" by Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., for the Supercenter category. Welch's, which was recognized for demonstrating innovation, professional attitude, high product quality and outstanding customer service was honored during an awards ceremony at Wal-Mart headquarters.
Winners were awarded in six divisions, including housewares, apparel/accessories, electronics, health/beauty, Supercenter and Specialty divisions. Attending the ceremony on behalf of Welch's were: Tom Callahan, Senior VP, Finance; Dave Lukiewski, VP Sales; Jeff Brown, Director-Marketing, Alternate Channels; Sally Giambrone, Customer Satisfaction; Al Scheuermann, National Accounts Manager, Special Markets; and Joe Eifler, Director of Special Markets.
"On behalf of all our employees, I'm proud to receive this honor from Wal-Mart -- one of the country's leading retailers," said Tom Callahan. "Welch's is committed to providing the highest quality products, continuously challenging industry standards and always maintaining strong relations with our retailers." Tom gave special recognition to Welch's employees - Sally Giambrone, Helen Tracy and Al Scheuermann - who interact with Wal-Mart on almost a daily basis.
