Grape Crumble Bars
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 1/2 cups un-sifted all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups ready-to-eat all natural cereal or granola (with raisins and dates)
- 1 jar (10 ounces) Welch's Grape Jelly
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 400° F.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add flour, salt and baking soda; mix well. Stir in the cereal. Press half of the dough into a well-greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, break up the jelly into small pieces using a fork. Spread jelly over the dough in the pan to within an 1/8 inch of the edge of the pan. With fingers, crumble the remaining dough over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until brown. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
